New well comes in

We went to the site where 2 new wells are being put in. This is one of the projects that the humanitarian services here provides regularly. Many people have no access to clean water and use what they can catch in rain barrels. They use the same water for cooking, bathing and drinking. The new wells provide them with clean water for the first time. The wells are put in central village locations and people come get what they need and carry it home. The drilling rigs are on the back of trucks and drill from the back of the truck.  You can see the water coming up from the ground and it is allowed to shoot up until it is clear then the pipes go in.  The farmer is working the ground next to the new well site and will have water for his garden from the wells. He gave us a big smile and a thumbs up!
