Food delivery in Kampong Cham

We went with Pres and Sis Moon and the minister of religions and cults to a food distribution in Kampong Cham.  The Kohls who are the LDSC missionaries who are responsible for arranging the distributions were also here along with Elder and Sister Dilworth who serve in this area.  We wanted to go this time to meet the minister who we need to have a good relationship with.  He is in a position to help the Church here a lot.  He is a very nice man and his wife is a sweet heart.  We hope to have an ongoing friendship with him.  He was more approachable than the Governor in Siem Reap whom is a little stern even though the minister here is a higher ranking official.  There were about 800 families represented at this ceremony.  They were already hot when we arrived as they were sitting in the sun. The pagoda was not big enough inside for this large of a group. Thankfully we had chairs to sit on this time! I just can't sit like the Cambodians do.  This area is way back in the country so we had a long very bumpy ride to get there. The road in the village was wiped out along with many houses by 6 foot high flood waters. They had a bulldozer in there to cut a new road through where the Mekong River had eroded into the banks and taken out the old road. All roads are dirt back in the villages. The village chief greeted us and thanked us as well and asked for help if possible to stop the river eroding any farther. The first picture is the village chief.
