We had lunch in town with the other sponsors after the ceremony and then crossed the river on a ferry to return back to Phnom Penh.

Wheelchair ceremony
One of the projects that LDSC does regularly is to help provide wheelchairs. We were able to go with them to a ceremony as fifteen people received their new wheelchairs. Each wheelchair is made to fit the person it will go to. This was a joint project with a veterans association and the rehab center in Prey Veng. There are quite a few disabled people who live at the center. They are able to go to school there and also get some help with rehabilitation. Many disabled people are kind of hidden away and not able to work or go to school. The center had the residents help build their school where they learn basic stuff and also computer skills and English which helps them get better jobs. The ceremony was like some others we have attended except for the wisdom dance preformed by some of the girls who live there. It was very beautifully done. We like to go to the ceremonies as there are always government officials who come and it is part of our job to help create good relationships with the government wherever possible. We really enjoyed meeting the governor of Prey Veng. He was very friendly and very involved with the residents as the ceremony was presented.
