Khmer New year

What an interesting time in Cambodia. It is Khmer New Year and the streets are basically deserted. Many people have gone to their home province or to a vacation part of the country for a week long holiday. It's very strange to see all the shops closed and not much moving. It is usually so crowded everywhere in the city. This is the biggest holiday of the year and they are very serious about it. It's kind of like Christmas Day that lasts a week. They do love a holiday and this is the third New Year celebration!  We can't get much done because everything is closed and everyone is gone. This week puts a serious dent into preparations for Young Ambassadors and the 20 year celebration. Soon this will be behind us and we can give a big sigh of relief.
